Hello! I am a psychologist and teen coach working with teen girls around the globe (and their parents) to help them build Unbreakable Mindsets.

I help teen girls who are struggling with their confidence, feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and shut down a lot of the time. Teen girls who want things to be different, but right now the struggle is affecting their self-image, relationships, and so importantly, their mental wellness. I'm here to help them turn things around and live their best lives.

A little about me: Over the years, I have given myself permission to explore my creative side. I’m drawn to physical fitness and sport and feel so at home in nature. I work really well with teens who have some creative connections (whether that’s drawing, painting, writing, acting, fashion, playing and making music, etc.). I also get the world of sport and connect well with teens who have an athletic side. And let's not forget, my love for animals- all of them!

If you’re curious about some of the specialized areas of training I have:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Expressive Arts Therapy
Internal Family Systems
Compassion Focused Therapy
Trauma focused (through the expressive arts, progressive counting, trauma sensitive yoga, and narrative approaches)
Grief and Loss
Functional Family Therapy
Nutrition for Mental Health
Attachment based parenting
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
HeartMath

Hi there! My name is Jessa.
I am a registered psychologist working with teens, parents, and young adults in Calgary, Alberta. I am passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves and am truly honoured to work in this field.

When I am not working, I have a range of interests that keep me busy. For instance, I love animals and have a dog and a cat that both like a lot of attention (both tri-coloured and fluffy!). I also enjoy plants, being outside, cooking, baking, crafty activities, going for walks, and video games.

I love spending time with family and friends but am an introvert at heart so quieter nights at home are good too.

I have called Calgary home for most of my life and love living here. Being a registered psychologist lets me invest back into a place I am proud to call home.

I am a registered social worker with a Bachelor of Social Work with a major in psychology from the University of the Western Cape, and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work specialization with individuals, families, and groups from the University of Calgary.

I have experience working with diversified population groups; individuals, families, children, teenagers and couples with diverse presenting bio-psycho-social health challenges. Some of these challenges include anxiety, depression, mental health, trauma, grief, stress, relationship issues, coping with life transitions etc. to mention a few.

Working in a clinical setting means being able to develop a subterranean understanding of the need to amalgamate an individual in relation to their multifaceted existences and the impact of their environment thereof. I possess social and cultural awareness and openness to different ways of knowing and being. I pride myself in working from a holistic and integrative approach using trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and intersectional lenses in rendering services. This approach to intervention will assist in bringing about positive change either directly on the client’s functioning or in the environmental factors immediately impinging on the client’s functioning.

Moreover, I would like to increase individuals’ capacity to rise above their challenges as their bio-psycho-social and overall health systems are engaged within the helping process through a self-determined, empowerment and person-centred approach which forms part of my theoretical framework. It’s also important to note that, my intervention or practice approaches vary as this is highly dependent on the clinical, social circumstance(s), individual or personnel involved.

Hello there! My name is Chipo Emmah Bvindi.

I am a registered social worker with a Bachelor of Social Work with a major in psychology from the University of the Western Cape, and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work specialization with individuals, families, and groups from the University of Calgary.

In my practice, I note the different intersectionalities that come into play, and I have adapted myself to understanding the effects thereof. I pride myself in working from a holistic and integrative approach using trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and intersectional lenses in rendering services.

I am grounded by embracing my full humanness-being imperfectly perfect. My faith, family and friendships carry me through life and its happenings. I find being in nature very healing and so is savouring moments. When not working, I love to engage in some fitness, go on walks, journal, catch up on Korean series, and city adventures, and read for pleasure. I also believe in allowing my inner child to come out sometimes through art, dancing, and building sandcastles you name it.

As a teen, you are dealing with a lot every single day! Anxiety and stress can keep you up at night, zap your motivation for school, sports, and your passions. It can even get in the way of your relationships and self-confidence.

You might be talking to your key people and you know you can handle a lot on your own, but this is really doing a number on you. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.

You might be unsure if you want to open up to someone, but you do know you want your motivation and excitement for life back. You want to sleep without your thoughts keeping you up. You want to feel less agitated and breathe easier.

Some of my favourite humans are teens (12-19). I offer: -in-person sessions -walk and talk sessions -virtual sessions

I use various therapeutic strategies (e.g. ACT, compassion- focused, trauma focused, cognitive behaviour therapy, expressive arts, dialectical behaviour therapy, etc.)
